The Attention Economy Does Not Love Your Child

Every time your child watches a video, the platform learns something. What keeps them watching? What makes them click? What makes them stay? The algorithm does not care if your child learns anything. It does not care if your child is happy. It does not care if your child is tired. It cares about one thing. Keeping your child's eyes on the screen. Your child is not the customer. Your child is the product. Their attention is what is being sold.

What this means for your family

This sounds dark. It is a little dark. But your child needs to understand it.

Not to be afraid. Just to be aware. To know that what they are seeing is not neutral. It was designed. It has a goal. And that goal is not their wellbeing.

How to talk about it

Start the conversation early. Keep it simple.

"Did you notice that the next video started by itself? That was not an accident. The app wants you to keep watching."

"Why do you think they put the most exciting part at the beginning? They want you to stay."

"What happens when you watch something you do not even like? The app does not know the difference. It just knows you are still watching."

Teach them to be curious about how things work. A child who asks "why did that video play next" is a child who is thinking, not just consuming.

Where Mikrodrama Kids fits in

We do not use algorithms. We do not have autoplay. We do not track your child's attention so we can sell it to someone else.

Our episodes stand alone. A complete story with a clear ending. When the episode ends, it ends. Your child decides what comes next. Not the machine.

We built it this way because we respect your child. Their attention belongs to them. Not to us.

About Mikrodrama Kids

Mikrodrama Kids creates short form, story driven content for children ages zero to twelve. No algorithms. No autoplay. No tracking. Just a story, then an ending, then your child decides what comes next.

The Parenting Advice That Does Not Work Anymore

"Do not give them a tablet when they are upset." "Stick to your limits." "Just say no and mean it." This advice assumes that the only variable is your parenting. It assumes that a child's behavior is a direct result of your choices. That was never fully true. But it is even less true now.

What to Do When Your Child Compares Their Life to What They See Online

"My friend has a new phone." "Their house is so much bigger than ours." "Why does everyone on TikTok have better clothes than me?" Sound familiar? Your child is comparing their real life to someone else's highlight reel. And in their mind, they are coming up short. This is not a new problem. Kids have always compared themselves to other kids. But social media has made the comparison constant, unfair, and harder to see.
